Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TUK Me Out(“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you book a tour or use our website. We process your data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Portuguese data-protection law.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What data we collect

When you make a booking, we collect:

  • Contact details — your name, email address and phone number.
  • Pick-up location — the address you enter and its map coordinates, so the driver can find you.
  • Booking details — the tour, date, time, number of people, any notes you add, and the calculated price.
  • Technical data — your IP address is used momentarily to prevent spam and abuse of our forms. It is not stored together with your booking.

We do not collect payment-card details through this website.

3. How and why we use your data

  • To provide the service you request — arranging and confirming your tour, picking you up and contacting you about your booking. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To communicate with you — by WhatsApp, phone or email about your booking. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To keep our website secure — rate-limiting and abuse prevention. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
  • To meet legal obligations — for example accounting and tax record-keeping where required. Legal basis: legal obligation.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the service, and only as needed:

  • Our drivers — your name, phone, pick-up location and booking details, so they can carry out your tour.
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — the pick-up address you type is sent to this geocoding service to turn it into map coordinates.
  • Messaging providers — if WhatsApp/SMS confirmations are enabled, your phone number and booking details are sent to our messaging provider (e.g. Twilio) to deliver the message.
  • Our hosting provider — stores the website and booking data on our behalf.

Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your booking data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet any legal, accounting or tax obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see your rights below).

6. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics. Our website only uses your browser’s local storage for strictly necessary functions: remembering your chosen language and keeping a driver logged in to the private bookings view. Because these are essential, no cookie-consent banner is required.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict or object to how we process it;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email tukmeout8200@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

8. How we protect your data

We serve the website over HTTPS, restrict access to the bookings view with a password and short-lived session tokens, and apply security headers and rate-limiting. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Children

Our website and booking service are intended for adults. Bookings that include children should be made by a parent or guardian.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
